On Thursday February 12, isf welcomed delegates and sponsors to its Middle East Master Class. This event was the second in a series of four master classes. Sponsors of the event included The Bank of New York Mellon, Citi, Fortis Bank Nederland, HSBC, Merrill Lynch and RBS.
Hosted at the Le Meridien hotel in Abu Dhabi, the one day event brought together leading local banks, scholars, hedge funds, exchanges, sovereign wealth funds and asset managers.
This region like no other has complexities and nuances that even the most in tune investor may find challenging. The Middle East is a prime example of why the master class was created– to educate. Educate the local community to the benefits of securities finance and how it is an integral part of any successful capital market. And educate the international community to how these markets work and the opportunities available.
