Nordic and Baltic markets prepare for rapid change, especially in the areas of asset servicing and fund administration
The Nordic/Baltic Markets are going through enormous changes in infrastructure, trading behaviour and post trade administration. In this environmentbetween now and the next five years, also the Custody industry will have to go through fundamental changes and adopt to the new market realities. This is not a unique phenomena in a global perspective but for a number of reasons the changes will be more challenging in Europe and especially so in the Nordics.
Common for the Custody industry on a global basis is the focus on risk identification, understanding and mitigation. Following the collapse of the markets in 2008 and the default of several market players and even near default of nations, this is not at all surprising....
