RMA conference report: Emerging from the storm

The first day of the RMA securities lending conference saw some good discussion on emerging markets and economic forecasts.
This year’s RMA securities lending conference is being held in Miami, Florida and like the tropical weather of the south, the theme of the day was around change.
The day kicked off with the revelation that a recent KPMG survey showed that 77% of investors felt that financial intermediaries were less trustworthy than politicians.The survey, featuring almost 300 respondents across 29 markets, also showed that 58% of investors said that investment managers should provide intermediaries with better product training to address the trust issues that exist.
