Haissam Arabi of Gulfmena Alternative Investments is a prominent figure in the Gulf region. He tells why he has left one of the most successful firms in the Middle East to go it alone.
Haissam Arabi is one of the most well known and respected figures in the Gulf region. He not only helped build up one of the UAE s leading investment banks SHUAA Capital; he also founded its asset management division; became SHUAAs leading fund manager and grew the assets under management in that division from $18 million in 2001 to $1.85 billion by 2008.
Impressive to say the least! But Arabi was not finished there, recognizing the international interest in the Middle East and lack of alternative asset classes; Arabi left SHUAA Capital and founded Gulfmena Alternative Investments.
