Canadian hedge funds perform well

The Scotia Capital Canadian Hedge Fund Performance Index outperformed global equities and broader hedge fund indices both on an asset and equal weighted basis in January.

The Scotia Capital Canadian Hedge Fund Performance Index finished January 2010 up 0.32% on an asset weighted basis and up 0.56% on an equal weighted basis. The Index significantly outperformed global equities, and also outperformed broader hedge
fund indices both on an asset and equal weighted basis.
