Recent changes to private sector pension fund indexation have boosted the case for a global approach to investing in inflation-linked bonds, says Fidelity International.
Last month, UK pensions minister Steve Webb announced that the indexation applied to benefits paid by private sector pension funds would be switched from the Retail Price Index (RPI) to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This followed a similar announcement in the June Budget concerning public sector pension benefits.
