The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) will allow market makers to engage in naked short selling when the practice becomes established. The announcement follows its decision last year to create a securities lending market.
According to the Nigerian newspaper Vanguard, the exchange is banning naked short selling for all market participants apart from market makers because it may take them “considerable time”...
