With attitudes towards securities lending changing and the hedge fund market evolving, the outlook for the Canadian securities lending industry is positive despite a present lack of demand.
Speaking at the Canadian Securities Lending Conference in Toronto, Paul Larkin, executive director in prime services, CIBC World Markets, said the attitude of the Canadian hedge fund industry towards securities lending has changed since the financial crisis.
