ING Investment Management (ING IM) has promoted Mark den Hollander to chief risk officer (CRO), replacing Satish Bapat.

Den Hollander moves from his role as head of ICS investment solutions to take on the new position.

Bapat, who will remain chief financial officer of ING IM, has also been carrying out CRO responsibilities on an interim basis.

Den Hollander also joins the ING IM International Management Committee and will report to Gilbert Van Hassel, CEO of ING IM, and functionally to Jeroen Potjes, deputy CRO for ING Insurance/IM EurAsia.

Den Hollander was previously chief investment officer of structures solutions at Fortis Investments, and before then held senior roles at ABN AMRO Asset Management.

Van Hassel said Den Hollander is well-positioned for the new role due to his knowledge on the asset and liability sides of investment management as well as his experience in a client facing role.
