Libor, a benchmark for contracts totaling more than $350trn, may not the only interbank interest rate subject to allegations of manipulation and collusion in relation to rate-setting – investigations have progressed but in London.
Similar allegations have been made against Tibor and Euribor. Governmental investigations are underway in a number of jurisdictions – the UK, US, Japan, Canada and Switzerland to name but a few –but investigations are still at an early stage.
