SEB’s Peter Herrlin has been promoted to head of prime brokerage In London, taking over from Atilla Olesen who has moved to Denmark to become head of Enskilda equities at the bank.
Herrlin first joined SEB in 2010 in the bank’s UK and European hedge fund sales business as well as securities finance and prime solutions, and its Ucits platform. He joined when the bank launched prime solutions in late 2010 and under his watch the platform has grown.
Herrlin said: “SEB Prime Brokerage is particularly well positioned to capitalise on our strong balance sheet and broad product palette to further expand our European client base at this time. Our model is attractive to investors and we have seen a surge of interest over the past couple of years, especially in the equity and CTA space.”
Before SEB he developed the hedge fund sales function at Deutsche Bank and prior to that he spent eight years in equity sales and fixed income trading at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and ABN Amro/Alfred Berg.
