Rule Financial has hired Citi’s James Tomkinson as a domain specialist in OTC clearing and collateral management.
His new role will involve consulting and servicing clients who need to optimise their collateral pools as a result of regulation including the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) which pushes OTC derivative transactions onto central clearing. He reports to Jim Warburton, head of domain group.
Tomkinson brings a wealth of experience in collateral management solutions having been part of the team that developed the first European tri-party repo product at Clearstream International.
He was most recently vice president of collateral management and global transaction services. Prior to Citi, he provided consultancy services at LCH.Clearnet and was also director of repo products at Nomura International.
