RBC Investor Services has made two senior hires from HSBC and Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) to its client solutions group.
Germain Birgen, who was managing director of HSBC Securities Services Luxembourg, becomes head of client solutions for Europe, excluding Luxembourg. Richard Clarke will head up client design. He joins from BBH where he was senior vice president of strategic solutions. Both will report to Tim Wood, who was recently appointed head of global client solutions.
Wood said the two new recruits will help provide clients with “creative and customised service solutions to help them achieve their ambitions”.
Birgen will be based in Luxembourg and will be responsible for providing integrated solutions to support clients, executing all client transitions activity, service management, and end-to-end delivery of client change projects. At HBSC he launched and led the bank’s fund solutions division as well as its Islamic securities services business.
He previously worked for the Bank of Bermuda in Luxembourg. Clarke will be based in London, focusing on global multi-regional clients. Prior to BBH he held senior positions at Citigroup.
