Pramerica Investment Management has hired Ousmène Mandeng as managing director in its Global Institutional Relations Group.

Mandeng, who joins from UBS, where he was managing director and co-head of the Public Sector Group, will focus on expanding and developing relationships with key sovereign wealth funds, central banks and other financial public sector institutions around the world. He will report to Jim Sullivan, head of Pramerica Fixed Income, who oversees the key client outreach effort.

Sullivan said: "Ousmène's experience and insight add great value for Pramerica's businesses to strengthen current client relationships and develop new ones as we seek to provide investors with the best possible investment opportunities around the world across all asset classes."

During his career, Mandeng - who undertook postgraduate work in economics at the University of Cambridge - has worked extensively across both public and private sectors. He was head of public sector investment advisory at Ashmore and spent eight years at the International Monetary Fund, most recently as deputy division chief, coordinating work on IMF lending policies, facilities and use of IMF resources, as well as serving in the United Nations Economic Commission.
