Spillane appointed emerging market debt currency portfolio manager
Aviva Investors has announced the appointment of Liam Spillane as its new emerging market debt currency portfolio manager in the emerging market debt team.
Spillane will be based in London and report to Aviva Investors' head of global markets, Daniel James.
James said: “We are pleased to welcome Liam to Aviva Investors. The depth of his experience in currency management will complement the team well as we take the development of our Emerging Market Debt capability to the next level.”
Before joining Aviva Investors, Spillane was a currency manager at Overlay Asset Management, part of BNP Paribas Investment Partners.
His role will see him responsible for generating qualitative input into the currency overlay process for Aviva Investors’ local currency strategies – in particular for the Aviva Investors Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond Fund and the Aviva Investors II Emerging Markets Inflation Linked Bond Fund.
