Industry veteran to replace retiring global head of treasury and securities finance
Maple Bank has announced Walter Kraushaar has been promoted to global head of treasury and securities finance.
Kraushaar, who joined the bank in 2010 as head of securities finance and is currently global head of securities finance, will succeed Hagen Wirth, who is due to retire at the end of the month.
Kraushaar will also become a managing director of Maple Bank.
Prior to joining Maple Bank, Kraushaar was managing director and head of short-term products at Dekabank.
In a career spanning more than two decades, Kraushaar has held positions with Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Sal Oppenheim Jr & Cie.
He spent seven years at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, which he joined as head of equity finance and product head for prime brokerage in 1998.
By the time he left in 2005, Kraushaar had been appointed global co-head of short-term products principal trading and managing director, responsible for bank's securities financing and prime brokerage business.
