F&C Investments promotes Bakhshi
26 September 2013
She will lead the governance and social investment team
F&C Investments has appointed Vicki Bakhshi as head of governance and sustainable investment (GSI).
Bakhshi, who joined F&C in 2006 and is currently head of engagement in the GSI team, will be responsible for leading the continued growth of F&C's responsible investing capability.
F&C said it has seen strong growth in demand for ethical and responsible investments, with the London and Boston-based GSI team signing up a number of institutional investors, including asset managers, insurance companies and pension schemes over the past year, as well as working on improving how ESG issues are included in the investment processes.
Bakhshi said: "As responsible investment continues to become more mainstream, offering clients the right advice, and providing the right solutions in supporting their investment decisions is crucial. I look forward to continuing to work with the team at F&C in developing our offering for clients in this important area."
Bakhshi, a former Bank of England Economist, was an advisor to the UK government – including 10 Downing Street - on environmental affairs before joining F&C. She was also a senior member of the team responsible for the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change.
Richard Wilson, chief executive, F&C, said: "F&C's GSI team is one of the best in market, and Vicki's appointment reflects our commitment and ambitions to growing our capability, as ESG factors become ever more embedded into investment policies and processes.
“We have a proud heritage in responsible investment, and I look forward to seeing this continue under Vicki's leadership."
