AXA IM names new global distribution head
24 October 2013
Appointment part of senior reshuffle
AXA Investment Managers has promoted Laurent Seyer to global head of distribution as part of a reorganisation of senior roles.
Seyer is currently global head of multi-asset client solutions (MACS) and joined the firm in May 2012 from Lyxor Asset Management, where he had been CEO.
He will be responsible for leading the firm's efforts to attract and increase AXA IM’s third party assets through building stronger client relationships with and improving the firm's third party investment distribution efforts.
Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM, said: “Laurent Seyer is ideally positioned to take on this role. Having been the CEO of Lyxor Asset Management from 2006 to 2012, and having designed and delivered tailor-made multi-asset class solutions for our principal client AXA Group as well as other institutional investors since then at AXA IM, he perfectly understands the investment issues clients are facing today."
As a result of Seyer's promotion, Christophe Coquema, currently AXA IM’s chief operating officer, becoming global head of multi asset client solutions, while global head of markets and investment strategy, Joseph Pinto, will become Global COO.
All three will remain as members of the firm's management board.
Rossi added: “Christophe Coquema will continue to build on the foundations laid by Laurent in the MACS team, further strengthening the relationship with the AXA Group, while Joseph Pinto with his extensive experience across various departments at AXA IM, was the natural choice to step into the Global COO role.”
