USS hires BT’s Kathryn Graham
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) has hired Kathryn Graham to head up strategy coordination within its investment management team.
She most recently worked for BT Pension Scheme Management (BTPSM) – the pension advisory arm of BT’s pension fund - as director and head of special projects.
Graham’s new role involves managing the key workflows that support the development of USS’s strategic asset allocation, and managing interlinked developments, operations and risk control. Her team is in charge of allocating external managers.
“Increasingly we are taking a whole scheme view to investment and risk management and through the development of this role we hope to achieve greater synergies amongst our various asset classes and managers to deliver the most effective investment strategy,” said Roger Gray, chief investment officer.
Graham had worked at Hermes/BTPSM since 2004, where she joined from Progressive Alternative Investments. She started her career at SG Warburg in 1994 in fixed income derivatives.
She is a trustee of the Hedge Fund Standards Board and a member of the London Board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
