The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has appointed Graham Vidler as head of external Affairs responsible for leading the NAPF’s external affairs activity including policy, research, media and parliamentary affairs. Vidler starts in late spring.

He joins from NEST (National Employment Savings Trust), where he was director of communications and engagement.

Joanne Segars, NAPF chief executive, said: “I am delighted Graham is joining the NAPF at this important time for the pensions industry. His expertise and enthusiasm for pensions matches our own priorities and those of our members. He will be a great asset to the NAPF.”

Vidler added: “It’s been a great five years at NEST and I’m hugely proud to have played a role in the creation of a major new pension scheme. I’m delighted to now be joining the NAPF; they have a central role to play in enabling workplace pensions to flourish and I’m looking forward to contributing to their continued success.”

Before joining NEST, Graham worked on pensions from a variety of perspectives as a researcher at the House of Commons, policy adviser for the Association of British Insurers, head of policy at Which? and head of marketing at Norwich Union Life.
