Nelson joins Standard Chartered Bank

Barnaby Nelson leaves BNP Paribas Securities Services to take up MD role. Stephanie Baxter reports

Barnaby Nelson has joined Standard Chartered Bank as managing director, investors and intermediaries - north east Asia and Greater China, Global Investor/ISF has learned. 

Based in Hong Kong, he will work on continuing the growth of the bank's transaction banking unit by helping to partner with leading investors and financial intermediaries in order to deliver unique and innovative solutions to help them prepare for the future.
 
Nelson was previously head of business development and sales, Asia for BNP Paribas, managing the client-facing expansion of BNP Paribas's custody and administration arm in Asia. He was also member of the bank’s Asian executive committee and global client steering committees.
 
Prior to that he held several roles at Reuters and Thomson Reuters, including business development manager and pricing and reference data business owner (Asia).
