The Global Investor/ISF global custody survey has been thoroughly overhauled for 2014 in several important areas. The qualifying banks are presented in alphabetical order with the winning score in each column highlighted – which means fewer tables need to be printed and should be easier to read.

Regular readers will also notice that there is a single weighted table to complement the raw data – formerly called unweighted – table. The new weighted methodology contains two stages.

The first attaches weight to the views of respondents depending on their assets under management (AuM) and the second attaches weight to service categories depending on how important they are considered by respondents (see methodology at the end of the survey).

The raw data table is calculated in the same way as previous surveys.
