LGIM hires new regional business head
Legal&General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Sarah Aitken as head of institutional business, Europe & Middle East.
She will join the firm in September 2014 and will report to Mike Craston, global head of distribution.
“This is an important appointment for us,” said Craston. “There is considerable momentum behind LGIM’s continued business expansion, as we diversify our investment capabilities and services among institutional investors in our core UK market while growing our distribution across Europe and the Middle East.”
In her new position, Aitken will take the lead on distribution strategy for future growth and help to build relationships with pension clients and consultants.
Aitken was head of distribution at Insight Investment Management, where she was responsible for client relationships, business development and marketing until 2013.
Prior to joining Insight in 2005, Aitken was a managing director at Merrill Lynch Investment Management, where she was head of institutional relationship management.
