USS hires chief service delivery officer
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) has hired Kevin Smith to the new position of chief service delivery officer, which he will take up in August.
The role has been created in order to ensure that the company continues to deliver effective pension services on behalf of the trustee board.
“We will continue to invest in the right people and processes to deliver that service, and ensure it stays relevant. I am extremely pleased to welcome Smith to USS. He is a high calibre individual who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role,” said Bill Galvin, group CEO.
Smith will be responsible for delivering the full range of administration services to the scheme's participating institutions and members.
Additionally he will be a member of the group executive team and will take executive responsibility for ensuring standards of delivery and that pension operations continue to evolve in response to changing demands.
Kevin has more than 30 years of pension management experience with previous roles at Aon Hewitt, Capita and Scottish Life.
