Liquidnet has hired Rob Laible as head of its global performance team (GPT).

Based in New York, Laible will have primary responsibility for leading and driving the marketing, sales, execution, and servicing of Liquidnet’s algorithmic trading services, execution desks and analytics as well as management of its liquidity partner relationships.

“We continue to focus on integrating all of our solutions and identifying ways to drive institutional investment performance for our community of the world’s leading asset managers,” said John Kelly, Liquidnet’s chief operating officer.

“Bringing someone with Rob’s  significant industry experience on board is a crucial step in being able to better deliver these value-added solutions in a compelling and seamless way.”

Laible will work in close coordination with the sales, technology and product development teams across all regions and be a member of the leadership team reporting to Liquidnet’s chief operating officer, John Kelly.

He brings more than 20 years of experience and most recently was head of programme trading and electronic execution for Asia at Macquarie Securities in Hong Kong.

Previously he was head of electronic trading and programme trading sales for Asia for Nomura. Other roles included head of Lehman Brothers’ prime services origination and electronic trading in Asia.

Over the last year Liquidnet have made a number of strategic hires.
