RBC Investor & Treasury Services has hired James Rausch as head of banks, brokers and exchanges in its transaction banking unit.

Based in Toronto, Rausch will have responsibility for relationship management, sales development, and product management for the three segments. He also joins the Operating Committee, reporting to Chris Seip, chief operating officer.

“Strengthening our leading offering in Canada for transaction banking and ancillary services to financial institutions and institutional investors is a major component of our global strategy,” said Harry Samuel, CEO at RBC Investor & Treasury Services.

"James will bring considerable experience to our team and we are excited by the benefit to our service and value proposition for banks, brokers and exchanges," he added.

Rausch brings over 25 years’ experience in financial markets, most recently working for Powerex, a key participant in energy markets across North America.

Previously, Rausch held a number of senior roles in Infoware Software, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and Toronto Dominion Bank, across cash management, client coverage, risk management, trading and corporate finance.
