Stephan Wolf is to join the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) as CEO, the directors of the foundation have revealed.

Wolf is chief technology officer (CTO) and member of the executive board at Interactive Data Managed Solutions. He is expected to assume the role at GLEIF soon.

GLEIF board chair Gerard Hartsink will serve as interim CEO.

“We had a large number of excellent candidates, but Stephan’s strong background, exceptional vision and energy impressed us and we are sure he is the right person to guide the GLEIF at this important stage,” said Hartsink.

Wolf co-founded IS Innovative Software in 1989 and served first as its managing director.

He was later named spokesman of the executive board of the succeeding IS.Teledata. This company ultimately became part of Interactive Data Corporation where Wolf held the role of CTO until 2010.

“I am very excited about this new challenge,” said Wolf. “Significant work has already taken place to define the vision for the Global Legal Entity Identifier System.

“Defining and developing the operations of the GLEIF is the next step in making that vision a reality. I am pleased to lead this development and contribute to this financial stability initiative.”
