Source has hired David Lake as managing director of its European exchange traded fund (ETF) business in the UK and Ireland.
He joins from RBS where he was head of sales for investor products and equity derivatives.

“Along with an in-depth knowledge of the UK and Ireland markets, Lake has also worked with incorporating exchange traded products (ETPs) in a multi-asset allocation framework,” said Peter Thompson, chief strategy officer at Source.

“This is increasingly important as investors are searching for ways to improve risk-adjusted performance and they become more aware of what ETPs can offer. With investors eager to learn more, it is imperative that Source is able to help them, and David’s appointment will assist us in this regard.”

Lake said: “I am extremely excited about joining Source and I’m delighted to be part of Source’s ongoing expansion.”

At RBS Lake worked across structured products, deposits, funds, ETFs and equity derivatives covering both institutional and retail clients on a multi-asset basis.

Before RBS Lake was head of UK structured product retail sales at Societe Generale for six years.

He started his career as an investment analyst at global macro hedge fund Sloane Robinson.
