AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Christophe Coquema as global head of client group replacing Laurent Seyer who has decided to leave the firm.

The client group was established in February 2014 in order to further support the growth momentum in third party assets. It is in charge of developing AXA IM’s proposition by client segment (institutional, retail and wholesale), while coordinating and monitoring marketing and client relationship activities.

“Coquema has an in-depth knowledge of AXA IM having led our strategy and business development team and served as our global chief operating officer since joining AXA IM in 2006,” said Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM.

“He also has a strong track record in managing change which will be hugely valuable as he and the rest of the client group work together to further leverage this new organisational structure in order to accelerate our growth with third party clients.”

Julien Fourtou will replace Coquema as global head of multi-asset client solutions and trading and securities financing, and will join the management board.

Fourtou has occupied various positions across AXA IM’s investment teams, gaining a deep knowledge of AXA IM’s investment platforms. In his role as chief investment officer of fixed income, he has been central to the development of AXA IM’s fixed income offering over the past years.

“In addition to congratulating Coquema and Fourtou on their new roles, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Laurent Seyer for the significant contribution he has made since joining AXA IM in May 2012,” said Rossi.

“As global head, Seyer helped us to further develop our capabilities in the solutions space and more recently, as global head of our distribution department, recently renamed the client group, he has begun the important work of creating two segmented business lines in charge of defining strategy, product offering and content.”
