Cian Burke has been appointed head of securities services as of September 1.

Burke will focus on continuing to grow and develop the HSS business while containing risk in a volatile market and changing regulatory environment.

Burke and Drew Douglas were appointed co-heads of HSS in 2010. Douglas has moved to become regional head of payments and cash management (PCM) for North America.

Before becoming co-head of HSS, Burke was head of prime services and also held roles in global markets and audit during his 20 years with HSBC.
