JPMorgan has appointed managing director Kris Jonsson and executive director Sandeep Bhamra to newly created roles as client advisors in the global endowments and foundations group.

“Kris and Sandeep bring with them a huge amount of experience in serving different clients across many asset classes. As this client group is so diverse, their combined experience will mean endowments and foundations across Emea can have meaningful conversations with JPMorgan Asset Management,” said Monica Issar, global head of endowments and foundations group at JPMorgan Asset Management.

Jonsson joins JPMorgan Asset Management from JPMorgan Private Bank, where he was most recently head of Emea endowments and foundations investor team. Before this, he was head of investors for Switzerland and emerging Europe for JPMorgan Suisse.

Bhamra joins from JPMorgan Investor Services, within the corporate and investment bank, where he covered alternative asset managers and hedge funds. Previously, he was part of structured credit marketing at JPMorgan.JPMorgan Asset Management has established a dedicated team to focus on global endowments and foundations clients in the Emea region.

Based in London, the team will strengthen the firm’s client coverage across the region and work with endowments and foundations to address their needs and challenges.

“Endowments and foundations can be very different than other institutional investors and these new positions highlight the great range of strategies and solutions they require. For example, these investors tend to be first movers into new assets classes or opportunities, usually because their liabilities, risks and investment processes are different from other investors," said Issar.

"In addition, their concerns are frequently different to those of pension funds or insurance companies. For example, many endowments and foundations go on in perpetuity and range from supporting a low to high percentage of operating budgets.”
