Aviva Investors has appointed Xiaoyu Liu to its equity investment team. She is based in London and reports to Will Ballard, senior fund manager, emerging markets and Asia Pacific Equities.

In this new role, Xiaoyu will work closely with Ballard and Ed Wiltshire on the Aviva Investors Asia Equity Income Fund; Emerging Market Equity Income Fund; and Emerging Market Small Cap Fund. 

"Xiaoyu has a deep knowledge of emerging market equities and strong experience of stock and country analysis. I am certain she will make a strong contribution to the team as we continue to grow our capability in this area,” David Lis, chief investment officer, equities and multi-assets.

Xiaoyu joins from the emerging market equity team at JPMorgan Asset Management, where she was a technology, telecoms and industrials sector specialist, and more recently focused on small and mid-sized companies across Asia. Before that, she worked at UBS in their global equity team.
