Sub-custody guide: Portugal
In October 2014 the Portuguese securities market moved from
T+3 to a T+2 settlement cycle following the harmonisation introduced by CSDR.
“As the Portuguese market will be joining T2S in the second wave, March 2016, 2015 will be an important year for the industry in terms of completing the necessary adaptations towards the migration to the European settlement platform by means of changes from a business and an operational point of view,” says Rita Roque, head of custody and securities services at Banco Santander Totta.
