Newton Investment Management, part of BNY Mellon, has appointed Henrietta Jowitt and Susan Noble as independent non-executive directors to its board. Jowitt and Noble are the first independent non-executive directors appointed by Newton.

Jowitt and Noble will join the existing board of seven executive directors and two BNY Mellon directors and bring with them a wealth of experience and extensive industry knowledge.

Noble has over two decades of experience as an investment management professional, including key roles at Robert Fleming Asset Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. She is currently non-executive director of British Empire Securities and General Trust and Alliance Trust.

Jowitt has held a number of senior marketing roles within the financial services industry with stints at private equity house Advent International Corporation and global asset manager Schroders. Most recently, she founded Rotation Point, a business strategy and change consultancy.

“In Henrietta and Susan we have two independent and experienced non-executive directors joining the board," said Helena Morrissey, chief executive of Newton. "They each bring distinct skills to complement the existing board and will enhance both our governance and Newton’s ability to achieve sustainable growth.”

The appointments follow James Wylie’s appointment to the Newton board as head of North America in May 2014.
