F&C Investments has appointed three to its continental European distribution team to support its growth ambitions.

Robert Elfström, Frank Steffen and Carolin Töpfer joined the team on May 1.

“We are excited to be expanding the European teams further. These appointments will enable us to continue to grow our distribution platform and coverage across Continental Europe," said Munich-based Georg Kyd-Rebenburg, head of European wholesale distribution.

“Robert Elfström and Frank Steffen have extensive experience across two key European fund markets, the Nordics and Germany, respectively, and their appointments put us in an even stronger position to cater to the investment needs of our clients. Carolin Töpfer will also play an important role in supporting the team as we continue to expand.”

Based in London initially, Elfström has taken up the newly-created role of director Nordic region and will manage new and existing wholesale and institutional client relationships in the region.

He previously worked at Franklin Templeton Investments as sales director Nordic region, responsible for developing products targeting discretionary and wholesale clients in the Nordics. Elfström will relocate to Stockholm in due course.

Frank Steffen joins F&C as a senior sales director in the Munich office's wholesale distribution team. He was previously a sales director for wholesale and strategic clients at BlackRock Investment Management in Germany. 

Steffen has 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector having previously held roles with ING, Citibank and Deutsche Bank AG.

Carolin Töpfer also joins the Munich office as sales support. Töpfer has experience in business support roles and will assist across the European wholesale team.
