SS&C forward redemptions edge up in May
SS&C GlobeOp's Forward Redemption Indicator is up to 4.68%, from 3.36% in April.
This represents a marginal increase year-on-year from May 2014's 4.32%.
“SS&C GlobeOp’s Forward Redemption Indicator of 4.68% for May 2015 is up from 3.36% in April, reflecting mainly seasonality, as the increase year over year is only 36 basis points from 4.32% for May 2014,” said Bill Stone, chairman and CEO, SS&C Technologies.
Movements in the Indicator reflect investor confidence in their allocations to hedge funds. Indicator data is based on actual investor redemption notifications received.
The Forward Redemption Indicator represents the sum of forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by SS&C GlobeOp. The data data on the GlobeOp platform represents approximately 10% of the hedge fund industry.
Unlike subscriptions, redemption notifications are typically received 30-90 days in advance of the redemption date. Investors may, and sometimes do, cancel redemption notices. In addition, the establishment and enforcement of redemption notices may vary from fund to fund.
