Russell hires head of currency strategy
Russell Investments has hired Van Luu as head of currency and fixed-income strategy.
Luu will contribute to the portfolio positioning recommendations provided by the investment strategy team by formulating Russell’s views on the outlook for currency pairs. He will be based in London and will report to global head of investment strategy, Andrew Pease.
“Van has a strong academic background and wealth of experience as a senior investment professional," said Pease.
"This is the second appointment we’ve made in investment strategy this year, following the hire of Paul Eitelman from JP Morgan to our Seattle office, and we look forward to their contributions.”
Luu will work with the currency management and trading business to develop currency hedging solutions used by Russell Investments’ funds and clients.
Luu was with Russell Investments as a senior analyst in the global strategy team, but took a hiatus at Norges Bank Investment Management, where he was a senior analyst for investment policy and allocation strategies.
“Van’s currency expertise will play an important role in creating investments that meet our clients’ needs," said Christophe Caspar, chief investment officer for multi-asset solutions at Russell Investments.
