AXA Investment Managers has promoted Paul Squires to the role of global head of trading and securities financing. Squires replaces Christophe Roupie, who has left the firm to pursue a new opportunity.

Paul joined AXA IM in 1996 as a trader and has been head of trading since 2005. Previously he was an equity trader for Mercury Asset Management and a UK equity trader for Sun Life Investment Management, which subsequently became part of AXA IM.

Jayne Forbes has been promoted to global head of securities financing and deputy head of trading and securities financing, reporting to Squires. Jayne joined AXA IM in 2005 as head of securities financing and has over 20 years’ experience within securities financing sales, trading, and product development.

After more than 10 years with AXA IM, Christophe Roupie has decided to leave in order to move to Switzerland and pursue a very different opportunity as the CEO and partner of a family-run business.

Roupie joined AXA IM in 2005 as global head of trading before becoming global head of trading and securities financing 2006.

“Christophe has not only built a market-leading trading and securities financing division, but has also helped to engage employees globally," said Julien Fourtou, global head of MACS and trading and securities financing, at AXA IM. "He will be missed."

“Paul Squires inherits an incredibly strong and loyal team who are ready, under his leadership, to continue to develop trading and securities financing, including its expansion in Asia and the US, and increased interaction with electronic platforms. We are confident that Paul, with the support of Jayne and the team, will build on the excellent work.”
