Insight Investment has appointed John Rushen in a newly-created role, head of institutional for Emea.

Rushen will be based in London and report to Philip Anker, global head of distribution,

The creation of the new post reflects Insight's global expansion. By bringing in Rushen, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the pensions and investment industry, Insight says it is reinforcing its commitment to the region.

At Insight, he will play a principal role driving the firm’s business development strategy in Emea, working with clients and their advisers in the delivery of outcome driven investment solutions.

“John joins at a pivotal time for Insight as our international and domestic business continues to grow thanks to considerable client advocacy and an enduring reputation for delivering mutually agreed investment outcomes," said Anker.

"His broad and deep experience means he brings unique and extremely valuable perspectives and I am sure will be instrumental in our dialogue with a broad range of investors across the region.”

Rushen has joined the firm from Aon Hewitt where he was head of Emea investment services. Previously he has held senior positions at BlackRock and Mercer.

"Insight’s investment-led philosophy and client-centred approach has firm foundations in the Emea region, which remains central to its business development strategy. We have strong ambitions for future growth in Emea and I am proud to be part of the team,” said Rushen.
