The only survey of its kind – the results and the depth of data behind those results, are recognized in the industry as giving the truest picture of what is otherwise an opaque market.

The survey is based on custom data provided by the world's top 33 global borrowers and lenders in the equity lending sector. Each of the 33 is able to rank their top seven counterparties across a range operations and demand categories. The results are produced in both weighted and unweighted (weighted results are based an average of the importance of each category to each of the survey participants).

Highlights this year are...

* Morgan Stanley top borrower of 2015 – it topped the global tables and was also the highest rated firm in the Americas, EMEA and Asia.

* Goldman Sachs was runner-up borrower with a high degree of consistency across the regions.

* Bank of America was third highest rated borrower.

* State Street top lender of 2015 – it also topped the global tables and was the highest rated in every region except weighted EMEA

* BNY Mellon was runner-up to State Street in the global tables.

* BlackRock third highest lender globally.

* Societe Generale CIB has a clear win as most innovative borrower.

* BNY Mellon most innovative lender

The overall survey also includes fixed income and technology sections (data vendors and tech vendors).

* UBS Zurich was ranked number one in fixed income

* DataLend and parent company Equilend won the data vendor and technology vendor rankings.
