The global head of JP Morgan's agency clearing business has left the US bank.

Emily Portney left on Monday to “pursue a new opportunity”, said an internal memo seen by Global Investor/ISF.

She had previously held senior roles in across JP Morgan’s prime finance, equities and futures clearing businesses during her two decades at the company.

In 2012, she was asked to lead the newly created ACCE (agency clearing, collateral management and execution) business.

This involved overseeing all client clearing across securities and derivatives, as well as the firm’s collateral management business.

Portney has also served on the CFTC’s Market Risk Advisory Board, the executive committee of the Futures Industry Association, and the CME Group's risk committee.

"Emily and I have been colleagues for years, and I would like to personally thank her for her partnership as well as her many contributions to the firm during her career," said Jason Sippel, JP Morgan's global head of prime services.

The bank has yet to announce any replacement.
