CBOE to list options on FTSE 100 and China 50
The Chicago Board Options Exchange plans to list options on the FTSE 100 and FTSE China 50 indexes at the end of this month.
The new products form part of a licensing agreement forged by CBOE and FTSE Russell at the start of 2015.
Under the deal, CBOE became the exclusive US provider of options on more than two dozen LSE-owned FTSE Russell indexes, including the Russell 2000 Index, the widely followed measure of the US small-cap market.
FTSE Russell was created when the LSE bought index provider Russell last year and competes with MSCI.
In September FTSE Russell inked a deal to put the Russell 1000 index and Russell 1000 value and growth futures on the Chicago-based derivatives trading house CME.
The following month the CME launched sterling and dollar futures on the FTSE 100 and FTSE China 50.
