Ileana Sodani will head up relationship development for BNY Mellon’s asset servicing business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

London-based Sodani, who previously held the position of chief relationship officer of Pershing’s business in EMEA, will oversee all asset servicing relationship development staff in the region.

She reports to Samir Pandiri, chief executive officer of the asset servicing unit and Hani Kablawi, chief executive of asset servicing for EMEA.

“Ileana has extensive experience building a large and diverse client base,” said Pandiri.

“Providing safekeeping, technology, data and fund services solutions to financial institutions and asset owners is a key driver of growth for BNY Mellon in the region,” he added.

BNY Mellon’s asset servicing arm contributes around a quarter of the bank’s total earnings and is part of its larger investment servicing division.

The unit is responsible for safekeeping assets for clients and providing a range of additional services, including securities lending.
