SEC sets up cyber security advisory role
US securities watchdog SEC has named Christopher Hetner as a senior advisor to Mary Jo White on cyber security.
Hetner will be responsible for coordinating efforts across the agency to address cyber crime.
He first joined the SEC in January 2015 from Ernst and Young where he led the wealth and asset management sector cyber security practice.
“Cyber attacks are a constant threat to our markets,” said SEC Chair Mary Jo White.
“With the cyber field steadily evolving and expanding, it is imperative we continue to enhance our coordinated approach to cybersecurity policy across the SEC.”
