Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has expanded its global high yield team with four new appointments ahead of the launch of a multi asset credit fund.

The appointments, consisting of a fund manager, a senior credit analyst, and two assistant credit analysts, are intended to support RLAM’s Multi Asset Credit Fund, which will be a globally diversified portfolio focused on alternative credit and aimed at institutional investors.

Asset classes considered by the fund will include secured and unsecured high yield debt, loans, asset backed securities and emerging market debt.

Khuram Sharih joins from Newton Asset Management as fund manager, focusing on leveraged loans and alternative credit. While at Newton, Sharih worked with the firm’s fixed income and global multi asset teams.

The new senior credit analyst will be Sebastien Poulin who will cover both high yield and leveraged loans. He joins from Principal Global Investors where he fulfilled the same remit.

Gary Ewen and Tom Elliott join the team as assistant credit analysts assigned to bolster RLAM’s multi asset capabilities.

“This significant expansion of the global high yield and leveraged loans capability at RLAM signals our commitment to offer clients a diversified approach to investing in credit,” said Azhar Hussain, RLAM’s head of global high yield.

“We think this is particularly valuable in an environment where government and corporate bond yields are at an all-time low.”
