The David Setters Trophy has raised close to £25,000 for the Motor Neuron Disease Association (MNDA) after the industry’s cricketers gathered for the annual tournament on Tuesday.

The third annual cricket tournament took place at the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) cricket pitch, featuring six teams from across the industry.

Team Interxion came out winners in a final played against Euronext, to lift the Trophy named in honour of David Setters, a veteran of the futures industry and former managing director of FOW.

Teams from KRM22 and LME made it to the semi-finals, while INTL FCStone and new entrants Intertrader went out at the group stages.

Interxion batsmen ‘Copter’ was named Genesis Global - Batter of the Day after a total of 94 runs during the day.

The Genesis Global Bowler of the Day prize went to Euronext’s Francia Acosta-Saltos.

The David Setters Trophy is brainchild of Nick Spencer Skeen and Keith Todd, who launched the event three years ago with support from futures industry professionals to raise awareness and funds for the MNDA.

David, who was diagnosed with MND six years ago, has also worked tirelessly since to raise awareness about MND and raise funds to find a cure.

He established City Against MND, and works closely with the MND Association while facing his own challenges with MND.

He is also a founder trustee of industry charity Futures for Kids (FFK), and completed last month’s fun run somewhat uniquely as fellow founder trustee Patrick Thornton-Smith pushed him round the course.

Sponsors of the Trophy this year include the teams that participated along with Ethypharm and Genesis.
