JPMorgan taps up SSgA’s consultants head
Nicholson, who will report to Karen Roberton, head of consultant relationships, brings with her a wealth of experience from 25 years in the industry, particularly in the UK and global consultant market place. She will focus on building JPMorgan Asset Management’s relationships with consultants to support the expanding global institutional business.
Nicholson joins from State Street Global Advisors where she was head of consultants.
Speaking about the appointment, Roberton said, “Our relationships with consultants are becoming increasingly multi dimensional and complex due to the changing nature of the pension landscape and the increasing trend towards tailored outcome-orientated strategies. Valerie has a vast amount of experience in working with consultants and we look forward to utilising her expertise as we continue to grow our relationships with clients and consultants.”
Nicholson said, “The low yield environment and the search for income are driving institutional investors to be more innovative in their approach to investing. JPMorgan Asset Management has a unique platform, where global capabilities across all asset classes are being combined to meet client’s needs. I look forward to the challenge of working with consultants to deliver these capabilities to clients.”
Previously Nicholson has held roles at F&C Asset Management, Citibank, Gartmore and Pictet Asset Management.
