EquiLend reaches new trade record
EquiLend reached a record number of trades on its securities finance trading platforms on February 6.
The 28,317 trades were equities and fixed income transactions, executed among 65 clients globally.
Collectively the trades were valued at more than $28bn. The number broke the firm’s previous record which was set on August 9 2011.
“With record volumes flowing through EquiLend today, we anticipate even greater participation as we roll out our new, consolidated trading platform, which will enable a vastly streamlined workflow for traders,” said Ben Glicher, chief information officer of EquiLend.
The firm is working on building out a consolidated platform, covering the entire pre-trade to trade execution process. It will be rolled out this year to clients.
