Schroders appoints head of global equities

Schroders has announced the appointment of Alex Tedder as head of global equities. He will take up his new position from June.

Tedder joins from American Century Investments where he was senior vice president and co-head of global and non-US large cap strategies, managing $21bn of assets and a team of 15 as at December 31 2013.

He will assume responsibility from Peter Harrison for the global and international equities team’s business management and strategic planning. He will also lead the team and drive the development of the team’s franchise.

Simon Webber will retain his investment focus, working with the team’s global sector specialists to ensure that client portfolios benefit from the team’s research capabilities and high-conviction idea generation.

Peter Harrison, global head of equities said: “Alex is a strong investor with 20 years’ experience and is an excellent cultural fit with our existing global equities team, consisting of eight global sector specialists and two portfolio managers.”
