The Pictet Group has appointed Laurent Ramsey, deputy CEO of Pictet Asset Management, to the partnership with effect from January 1 2016.

Separately, Jean-François Demole has decided to retire from Pictet's partnership with effect from August 30 2015. He will bring to a close a 27 year career in banking.

Ramsey, who has been with the firm since 1993, will retain his responsibilities as deputy CEO of Pictet Asset Management which he was charged with in 2014.

Initially an equity analyst, he moved to Asia in a business development role. On returning to Geneva in 1998, he took responsibility for fund distribution in Europe, before becoming CEO of Pictet Funds in 2004. He was appointed head of all institutional distribution and marketing activities in 2011, before taking on his current role three years later.

Demole will continue to contribute to the group through his roles as a board member of Banque Pictet & Cie and of Pictet Alternative Advisors. He will concentrate his activities in the fields of private equity and real estate.

Joining Pictet in 1991, Demole became a partner in 1998. He has been responsible in particular for building the group’s presence in asset services, including global custody and the structuring and administration of mutual funds, and services to independent asset managers. He also established Pictet’s advisory services to family offices in 1998.
